Outreach
In May this year, Jim and Rachel shared that we think Jesus is calling us, Kingdom Vineyard, to two things, Perseverance and Kingdom Expectancy. We think He is asking us to keep pressing on in our relationship with Him, and to expect Him to move in power in our local area.
If you missed either of the talks, we would encourage you to listen to them here:

As part of this calling, we have shared from the front of church a few times that we’re wondering whether God is asking us to partner with him to see 26 people baptised by Easter 2026. To see that happen, we’re going to need to introduce a few new people to Jesus, and we think Homegroups are key to doing that!
If you look at the Structure & Meeting Guidelines section of the toolkit, you’ll see that Outreach is listed as a recommended Homegroup activity on one of the non-Bible-study evenings, so, as well as being places where relationships with one another and with God are deepened, we would love for our Homegroups to be mini missional communities, showing God’s love to their surrounding area and introducing some new people to Him.
Together, we put together a list of ideas for outreach activities that Homegroups could do together, ranging from things that are fairly straightforward and doable for those who are terrified at the idea of outreach, to things that might require a bit more courage. We would love to see each of our Homegroups try out 4 outreach activities by Easter next year. You know your group best, so we would recommend giving over a Homegroup evening to talk to your group about outreach and think about which of these activities (or any others) people would be keen to try.
Here is our list of ideas:
Use John Wimber’s “Power Evangelism” book as a study tool for the next term to get you and your group inspired: https://shop.alpha.org/power-evangelism
Free car wash
Litter pick
Free bacon rolls

Prayer in homegroups for specific people
Identify local needs and try to meet them
Partnering with Storehouse
Hot drinks (eg around library/exams)
Tea break packs for teachers/workers

The Miracle Question (“If you could ask God to do a miracle in your life today, what would it be?”)
Care home visits - music, prayer, companionship
We have made business cards with KV’s info on them: our website, service times and an email address to request prayer. These can be added to any care packages you give away, or handed out to anyone curious as to why you’re doing a litter pick for example.
We would love to hear about it when your Homegroup has tried one of these (or any other!) activity, so please get in touch and tell us how it went!
